The problems this solves

01

Grades in 14 teacher spreadsheets

Every rebbi and teacher keeps marks their own way. Report card season means collecting, deciphering, and re-typing all of it.

02

A full SIS is too much for some schools

A 60-student cheder doesn't need standards-based grading engines and transcript audits — it needs marks recorded and report cards out on time.

03

Report cards eat a week, twice a year

Assembling, formatting, printing, and mailing report cards consumes the office every semester — for a document parents want digitally anyway.

What it does

Simple score entry

Teachers enter assignment, test, and behavior marks from any device — everything in one system instead of fourteen spreadsheets.

Report periods & averages

Scores roll up into report-period averages with basic weighting — limudei kodesh and general studies tracked separately.

Generated report cards

Clean, branded report cards generated as PDFs and delivered to the parent portal — with optional print for the families who want paper.

Teacher comments

Comment banks and free-text remarks per subject — the part of the report card parents actually read.

Parent visibility, your rules

Publish grades to the family portal at report time or keep continuous visibility — a school-level choice.

Honor roll & flag lists

Automatic honor roll lists and struggling-student flags each period — recognition and intervention both on time.

1 day

from final grades entered to report cards in every parent's portal

The honest part

Why we call it beta

Most platforms oversell. We'd rather tell you exactly where this tool shines and exactly where a dedicated SIS beats it.

✓ What it does well

Assignment and test scores, report-period averages with basic weighting, comments, generated PDF report cards, portal delivery, and honor-roll lists. A strong fit for chadorim, preschools, and smaller schools with straightforward grading.

◐ What it doesn't do (yet)

Standards-based grading, GPA scales and class rank, transcript generation for high school records, or complex weighting schemes. For mesivtas and high schools that need real transcripts, we recommend — honestly — pairing 613OS with a dedicated SIS like Gradelink or QuickSchools. Keep their gradebook; replace everything else.

✦  Quick answer

What is a lightweight school gradebook?

A lightweight gradebook records grades and generates simple report cards for schools that don't need a full academic suite. The 613OS gradebook (beta) handles basic grade entry and term reports — schools needing weighted GPAs, transcripts, and official records should integrate a dedicated SIS alongside it.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does the beta gradebook handle?

Basic grade entry by subject and term, simple report card generation, and teacher comments. It fits elementary settings and schools with straightforward grading — the operational basics, honestly scoped.

Can it produce official transcripts?

No. Cumulative GPAs, credits, class rank, and transcript-ready records are the domain of a full SIS like Gradelink or FACTS. 613OS integrates via roster sync so the SIS owns academics while 613OS runs enrollment, tuition, communications, and fundraising.

Which schools is the beta gradebook right for?

Preschools through elementary grades, and mesivtas that keep limudei kodesh evaluations simple. High schools that issue transcripts should keep a dedicated SIS for academics — we say this plainly because honest scoping beats overselling.

Do grades connect to parent communication?

Yes. Report cards deliver to the family portal and by email, and grade-related notes can trigger parent messages — keeping families informed without a separate login or paper going home in backpacks.
